本セットはCD4枚を通して、世界で最もにぎやかな島の音楽の主な歴史を、代表曲でたどっている。そして、スカより前の時期から、90年代にダンスホールを席巻するまでを収録している。その間、スカ、ロックステディ、レゲエ、ダブといった音楽が登場したが、その名曲すべて全95曲が聴ける。

本セットに表立って登場しない唯一の有名アーティストはリー・ペリーだが、そのプロダクション・ワークは本セットのサウンドの中に染みこんでいる。また、スティーヴ・バロウによる解説は、この島の音楽史を教えてくれる。本セットは、この島の音楽の歩みと同じように、スタイルと内容のどちらをとっても完璧。
